Each summer, the State College Food Bank hosts it's No Cost Produce Market. from mid-June through September.
The State College Downtown Rotary Club supports this initiative to provide fresh produce to those in need in Centre County by volunteering to unload and then prep/portion the produce, set up the market inside a vacant store in the Nittany Mall, distribute the food during these twice monthly events, and clean up afterwards.
Our club is proud to be the Charter Organization for Scouts BSA State College Troop 31 Boys and Troop 31 Girls. We also have chartered the Scouts BSA State College Pack 31 Cub Scouts. Since the early years of Rotary International, Rotary clubs have chartered Scout Troops. The Scout Law and the 4-Way Test share many of the same values and the many current Rotarians were former scouts. For more information on the Troops, please visit their website. We encourage all youth in our area to consider joining Scouts BSA.
Club Members are encouraged to participate either as part of our group or at their individual workplaces in the United Way Day of Caring each year.
Lederer Park is named after a past member of our Club, Eugene Lederer.
In partnership with area clubs, Rotarians took turns watering the healing garden during spring and summer months in year's past.
